Our Story

Chabad Lubavitch Leeds was established in 1975 to serve the Jewish community of Leeds. The Chabad Lubavitch Centre is a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of affiliation or prior level of knowledge. Our aim is to create a warm and welcoming environment in which Judaism’s timeless and relevant teachings can be explored in a non-judgemental and inviting atmosphere.

Since its inception, Chabad Lubavitch Leeds has worked to meet the needs of the community through religious services, social events and a wide range of programmes, including Torah Tots, CKids after-school clubs, camps, Impact Care Awards, JLI adult education and Shabbat Dinner Packs.

Chabad Lubavitch Leeds is a local, independent charity and a financially self-supporting organisation. Every pound we receive comes from the generosity of people like you.

Meet Rabbi Eli & Dabrushy Pink

Family Picture

Rabbi Eli and Dabrushy moved to Leeds in 2007 with their children Leah and Avremi. Since then, they have been joined by Chaya’le, Yehuda, Miriam, Shaina and Shneur, kein ayin hara.

Before moving to Leeds, Rabbi Eli grew up in Manchester and went on to study Jewish thought and practice in Israel, Canada and America. He spent four years in Ukraine as a trainee rabbi and received his rabbinical ordination in Israel. His infectious optimism and joyful spirit are at the heart of his dedication to the Leeds community.

Dabrushy was born and raised in London and is a passionate educator who teaches classes for women and can cook up a storm. She also has an exceptional eye for style, which shines through in the events and programmes she plans.
